Leaders IN TRAINING PROGRAM

9th–10th Grade

June 20 – August 2, 2024

$1,800

Campers entering 9th & 10th grade are eligible for our Leader in Training (LIT) program. The LIT program is the perfect opportunity for young adults interested in positively impacting children. As a LIT they will learn the skills needed for possible future work as a camp counselor. LITs learn important life skills such as leadership development, teamwork, communication, management, and cooperation.

After submitting their registration, LITs will be interviewed by one of the camp’s directors to discuss their interests and passions and the expectations of being a LIT and working with children. LITs will spend two-thirds of their day in a supervisory role, working with a specific group of children and/or in a specific activity area.

LITs will have regular meetings throughout the summer with staff members who keep track of their progress and evaluate their performance after the first three weeks and again at the end of the summer.

They will have a series of classes with either the Camp Director or the Assistant Director of Counselors. These classes will provide foundational knowledge, skill development, and specialized training. There is also time built in for them to relax and have fun with their peers.
